TO THE VOTERS OF GIBSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: You are hereby notified that COUNTY PRIMARY elections will be held in all voting precincts in Gibson County, Tennessee on:
TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2026
Republican and Democratic Party Primaries have been called for ALL county offices.
The qualifying Deadline for all interested candidates for ALL county offices is Noon on
February 19, 2026. (The call of the primary for ALL county offices requires the qualifying
deadline to be the same for all candidates.)
An “interested candidate” means any person interested in running for one of the offices on the
primary election ballot, that is, those who seek to run on the primary ballot, and those who seek to run as independent candidates.
This election is being held to elect nominees for the offices to be filled at the regular August 6,
2026 General Election. Candidates shall qualify by filing nominating petitions with the Gibson
County Election Commission. Petitions will be issued at the Election Commission office
beginning December 22, 2025.
Independent candidates for all county offices shall also file their petitions by the qualifying
deadline below.

Notice is also given for handicapped or elderly voters, whose polling place is inaccessible. They
have the right to vote early or on Election Day at the Election Commission Office. To vote at the
Election Commission office on Election Day, the voter shall complete an affidavit no less than ten
(10) days prior to the first election in which they wish to vote.
